Technically a fruit, Avocados are lipid-lowering, antihypertensive, antidiabetic, anti-obesity, antiatherosclerotic, anti-thrombotic and cardio protective.

Eating avocados may help prevent the development of metabolic  syndrome, a serious disease effecting many people today due to our lifestyle choices.  Avocadoes starve of belly fat and may combat nearly every aspect of metabolic syndrome. They contain many positive aspect of their nutritional profile and help to optimise our cholesterol levels. Avocadoes contain high amounts of fibre, protein and healthy fats. The high fat content in avocados is a good thing — it’s not “bad” fat. In fact, it’s good, necessary fat from oleic acid, which is the same monosaturated fatty acid contained in olive oil. Oleic acid is associated with decreased inflammation, which may help stave off such diseases as cancer.

Avocadoes can be added to your diet in a number of interesting ways, Use as a base for guacamole, sliced in sandwiches, salads, added to scrambled eggs or even as a snack on there own.
