Do you have heel pain?
The British Journal of Sports Medicine states, “Plantar heel pain is one of the most common foot ailments, accounting for about 15% of foot symptoms requiring medical attention and 10% of running injuries”. Many doctors recommend shoe inserts to ease this pain by supporting the arches and taking pressure off the heel, but research to date has been inconclusive about the effectiveness of this approach. I have to absolutely object to this. The reason most heel pain doesn’t improve, is because it requires a holistic approach. I have heard patients be told by the Medical Doctor to rest off their feet…garbage. You need to correct the cause of the problem
Treatment for Heel Pain:
- Orthotics fitted by a Podiatrist
- Arch Supports in thongs and shoes where orthotics don’t fit
- Full spine and feet adjustments with a Chiropractor who does Structural change
- Remedial Massage to the lower body
- Dry Needling to the lower body
- Magnesium Supplementation
- Ice Therapy to the feet
