Epilepsy and Vitamin D
Correcting vitamin D deficiencies may help epileptics control their seizures better. In a pilot study, researchers observed how correcting vitamin D deficiency affected 13 subjects between ages 19 and 60 who had epilepsy anywhere from 10 to 42 years. After a 90-day follow-up, 10 out of 13 had a decreased number of seizures, five of which experienced more than a 50 percent reduction.
