Studies show that Lactobacillus Rhamnossus LGG improves food allergy tolerance.  Acquisition of tolerance was evaluated by double blind placebo controlled oral food challenge following 12 months of treatment. In total, 5 out of 12 (42%) LGG treated infants developed tolerance to cow’s milk proteins, whereas all (7/7) of the untreated infants remained allergic.

How does LGG help ???

  • Inhibits pathogens attaching to the gut wall
  • Inhibits fungal growth
  • Encourages growth of Butyrate producing bacteria. Butyrate is the preferred energy source for colonocytes and is often considered a sensor of intestinal health.
  • It reverses the increased intestinal permeability induced by cow’s milk in young rats and promotes intestinal barrier function in children with food allergy
