Massage and Blood Pressure
Prehypertension is elevated normal blood pressure.
A study from University Isfahan in Iran with 50 prehypertensive women during a six month period showed the mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure to be significantly lower after 10 weekly sessions of 15 minutes. The results lasted 3-14 days.
This shows that regular massage has the ability to maintain prehypertension in a normal state, thus preventing it from developing into hypertension.
