Mental Health and Thyroid Function
Patients with severe mental disorders are more likely to have altered thyroid function, which may in part be linked to the use of commonly prescribed antipsychotic agents, new research suggests.
Patients with severe mental disorders die about 25 years before the average life expectancy, due to the metabolic effects of the antipsychotic drugs. Since those on antipsychotics usually have high levels of inflammation, some natural solutions to reduce the effect on the metabolism would be:
- 8 glasses of filtered water a day
- Alkaline Diet with 6 handfuls of vegetables a day with all the colours of the rainbow.
- Practitioner Fish oil supplements
- Practitioner Thyroid supplements
- Practitioner Curcumin Supplements
- Practitioner Alkalizing Supplements
