Our Gut Bacteria
Our gut bacteria come from our Mother. Therefore a Mother with a poor diet/lifestyle who has low biodiversity in her gut bacteria gives birth to a baby with the same bacteria, and if this is not changed prior to 3 years old, that biodiversity does not change for the life of that person.
It is then passed onto the next generation. Antibiotic use prior to 3 years of age kills off the biodiversity of the person for their whole life. Early life antibiotic use may be a driver of obesity.
Low Biodiversity is linked to Higher Insulin Resistance, Higher Cholesterol, Higher inflammation. More Gut diversity is linked to decrease in adiposity, Lowered total cholesterol, lowered inflammation and Auto immunity
