Weight loss is controlled by the brain

Your body weight is  stable at 10% either side of what you weigh. This is called the ‘set point’

Body weight set point determines regulated energy in and metabolic rate.  When you lose weight, your brain tells you to become more hungry and makes you feel fatigued, so you do less.  In order to lose weight long term, we need to lower the set point each time we lose weight.  By having breaks after 6 weeks in our dieting and pulsing our diets every 2 weeks, it resets the set point and allows the brain to reset to the new weight.

Strategies for long term weight loss:

  • 2 litres of water a day
  • 7-8 hours of good sleep
  • Thermogenic protein with each meal
  • 6 handfuls of vegetables a day
  • Reduction of processed food that contains fat and white type carbohydrates.
  • Consulting a Practitioner on a regular basis
  • 45 minutes exercise 5 days a week
