Endometriosis
It is a condition that affects a woman’s reproductive organs. It occurs when cells similar to those that line the uterus are found in other parts of the body.
The phenomenon of neonatal menstrual-like bleeding (NMB ) may be a possible sign of foetal distress and more prevalent in cases of maternal preeclampsia. Recent studies confirm that NMB resemble menstruation and is characteristic of progesterone withdrawal. Endometrial stem/progenitor cells may be present in neonatal menstruation, with potential to be causally linked to early onset endometriosis during adolescence of the unborn child.
