The HYPOTHALAMUS   controls over eating.

Did you know that part of your brain, called the Hypothalamus is the ‘set point’ puppet master. It   releases hormones that accelerate your metabolism and physical activity, as well as putting the brakes on weight loss by creating fatigue, hunger and making food a reward.

Actions that Inflame the Hypothalamus

Caloric excess stimulates Dopamine (the reward centre of the brain) and creates a leaky blood brain barrier, that in turn  causes immune cells to enter the brain and causes brain inflammation and impaired starvation signals, which means that you eat more of the same type of food.

The real cause of obesity is eating too much and not moving enough, which resets the ‘set point’ higher and your metabolic rate slows.

Ways to reduce Hypothalamus inflammation

– 2 litres of water a day

– 6-8 handfuls of vegetables

– Thermogenic protein

– 7-8 hours sleep at night

– Small amounts of anti-inflammatory fats

– 45 minutes of exercise 5 days a week
