Probiotics and Pregnancy
Early antibiotics predicts childhood obesity and central adiposity. Research indicates Australian Medical Doctors prescribe antibiotics 9 x more than they should. Emerging data shows antibiotics given in the first 3 years of life have a lasting effect on the heath of the person for the rest of their life, as a result of the reduction in diversity of the gut bacteria. Supplementing with specific probiotics during pregnancy protects against central obesity, autoimmunity, such as asthma and eczema and behavioural disorders.
