Shin Splints are mainly caused by overuse and constant strain on your legs.

This is caused by forward posture, as more body weight is placed through your feet, creating more pronation and strain on the shins, especially the leg that is functionally short.  As a result, pain develops in certain tissues or muscles in your shin bone. The condition is common among athletes, especially those who specialize in running.
